Deutsch: Symbole, Icons und Piktogramme, die direkt aus den Microsoft Windows-Betriebssystemen stammen. Diese können Symbole aus Dialogboxen sein, oder aus Dateien wie damals SHELL32.DLL (Urheberrecht beachten). Es wird versucht, die Icons chronologisch (nach OS-Versionen) zu sortieren.

Beobachtungen:

  • Erst ab Windows 3.x wird das ICO-Dateiformat gängig
  • Windows 1.0 und 2.x arbeiten mit monochromen Icons
  • ICO-Dateien unter Windows 3.x gibt es in monochromer und farbiger Fassung
  • In seltenen Fällen wie Windows NT 3.x findet man sehr kuriose Symbole
  • Einige Icons sind zwar in Dateien enthalten, werden aber nie genutzt
  • Icondateien unter Windows 10/11 enthalten oft noch Icons aus der Windows 9x- und XP-Ära.
English: Symbols, icons and pictograms that originate directly from the Microsoft Windows operating systems. These can be symbols from dialog boxes or from files such as SHELL32.DLL (mind the copyright). An attempt is made to sort the icons chronologically (by OS version).


Observations:

  • In rare cases like Windows NT 3.x you can find very strange icons
  • Some icons are contained in files but are never used
  • Icon files under Windows 10/11 often still contain icons from the Windows 9x and XP era.)
